LAMPARD IS BACK! GOOD OR BAD

Sacking Thomas Tuchel for Graham Potter was a bad decision. Agreed. If it was the Roman era, Potter wouldn’t have come in, a bigger manager would have been hired. I do not blame Todd Boehly for sacking Tuchel though, if Tuchel was unwilling to go with the vision of the new owners as reported. Every take-over has casualties. Marina left, Cech left and Tuchel followed, but then bringing in Potter on that short notice was a poor decision.

Frank and Todd

Fast-forward Potter has performed very poor for various reasons. He’s sacked, Lampard is now the man in charge. Lampard’s appointment has been met by a wave of criticism. Rightly so, given how he left the club and what he did with Everton. He almost got them relegated last season and the poor run continued this season until he got the sack letter.

Frank’s main problem at Chelsea was his poor defensive shape and team organisation as a whole. It was pretty poor. Holes could be dug throughout his set up.

Frank Lampard

He will come in guns blazing this time round hoping to right his wrongs. He’s no more a newby in the league. Forget about the “interim” or “caretaker” talk, if he does really well in the league and champions league, he will be in contention for a permanent position.

Lampard’s time at Chelsea was not all gloomy. In his first season he finished 4th in the league and reached the FA Cup final. He brought in the likes of Reece James, Tammy Abraham, Fikayo Tomori and Mason Mount. Mount has gone on to become one of Chelsea’s best players if not the best in the past 3 seasons, James is now one of the best right backs in the world. Abraham and Tomori are doing very well in Italy.

The decision to appoint Frank will give the owners some breathing space to think well about who to appoint next. Not to rush into another decision like they did Graham Potter.

Now, Lampard won’t have it easy, neither will any manager. It will definitely get better with time, but the players are yet to gel and mature. Enzo is no Essien or Makelele, not even Mikel Obi. Mudryk is no where close to Hazard or Arjen Robben, Noni Madueke is not even playing for the 3 Lions, same as Badiashile who plays for the France U21. Felix is obviously an amazing player, but not one who gives you a lot of numbers.

Patience is needed.

THE SHIELD

Razak Majeed is an exciting Defensive Midfielder who plies his trade with Kanyiti FC, a Sawla based Second Division side. The 2022/2023 season has been his best yet. He’s helped KFC qualify to the Sub-Middle League.

Abdul-Razak Majeed

The 6.2 ft. tall hard-tackling midfielder has played every single minute of the 12 games Kanyiti FC has played so far this season.

Majeed controls the flow of KFC’s game by connecting the defense and attack very well. His game reading and anticipation is one that has everyone admiring the tall midfielder.

Abdul-Razak Majeed

Majeed’s strongest weapon is his aggressiveness, endurance, stamina and ball winning spirit. These help him intercept balls and win tackles on a regular basis, taking a lot of work off the shoulders of the defense.

Abdul-Razak Majeed

Majeed combines technique and strength so well, and that has given him the balance a very good midfielder needs to be able to control the tempo of a game.

Majeed is definitely one for the future.

Legends Heap Praise on HAALAND 💯

Erling Braut Haaland

Erling Haaland has been on fire throughout this season. Here are a few of the praises the Manchester City star has received from some of the games’ greatest💪🏾

Sergio Leonel Agüero del Castillo

“He combines a great athletic capacity with raw power – an unusual combination.

“And he never loses sight of the goalposts – some games, he barely gets the ball, but the few times he does, he scores.
“Look at the stats right now – he’s scored 18 Premier League goals in the first stage of the League so far, and the highest in a single season is 34. If he keeps at it, he’ll surely be able to clear this mark.”

“I think Haaland is maintaining form with his performance in other clubs – and that form is all about scoring.

“His stats are really remarkable. He’s kept his stride for City and there’s an additional merit to being able to do it in the Premier League, which is a whole different type of game. And on his first season as well!”

Kun Aguero on Haaland

Zlatan Ibrahimović

“I like him a lot, he is a very intelligent player, he doesn’t do things that are not within his reach. He does not go down to play the ball, he waits in front of the goal and scores.

“He reminds me of former players like (Filippo) Inzaghi, (David) Trezeguet and (Christian) Vieri. In fact, it’s a new version of all three.”

Zlatan on Haaland

Rio Gavin Ferdinand OBE

What Haaland is doing in football right now is astonishing,’

‘When he’s playing like this in the team, they are absolutely dominant. He gives the feeling as long as everyone else is a 7/10 and he’s here “we win”.

‘He brings a superpower to the team and this is already a supercharged team with exceptional talent, and there’s a hunger and desire in his play above everything else.

‘Scandalously I’ve heard people say he (negatively) impacts the way this team plays. 39 goals in the season… he only makes this team better.’

This isn’t a coincidence he’s scored so many goals at the age of 22 – he’s just in the right areas again and again. There’s no coach, even Pep, one of the best if not the best in the world that can teach that.’

Ferdinand on Haaland

Zinédine Zidane

“Two tremendous players, for now and the future. That’s it. I’m not going to say who I prefer over the other. Everyone has their opinion.”

Zidane on Haaland and Mbappe

Jürgen Norbert Klopp

“When (Haaland) was very young, you could see the potential, it was insane,” he said.
“Physically he sets new standards, the combination of being really physical and technical and sensational awareness, his orientation on the pitch is exceptional, he knows always where the decisive gaps are, barely offside.

Klopp on Haaland

Carlo Ancelotti Cavaliere OMRI

“He’s a great player”

Ancelotti on Haaland

Paul Scholes

He reminds me so much of Ruud van Nistelrooy, such a ruthless finisher.”

“When he gets through, you feel he’s going to score and you feel he’s not going to give the goalkeeper a chance”Scholes on Haaland

John George Terry

He could be the greatest ever in the Premier League, couldn’t he? You’re trying to compare him with somebody, I’ve never seen a player so young have that desire to score the goals he’s scored. He is just relentless.”

Terry on Haaland

Ricardo Izecson dos Santos Leite

“Congratulations to him because he is ready to play at the highest level. It’s incredible what he is doing in the Premier League, I think he will break all the records and will be one of the best in the world”.

Kaka on Haaland

One word for Haaland? AMAZING💪🏾💯🔥
